2007-2008 Council Goals

The foremost goal of the 2007-2008 student government is to ensure student success. The three avenues through which this goal will be pursued are detailed below.

First, the student government would like to increase the unity between the Associated Student Council, the student body, the faculty, and the administration. We aim to do this by fostering a sense of wholeness and allowing for open communication throughout the different facets of SCC.

In addition, the current student government will pursue increased club membership and participation, in an effort to encourage student success. Student senators will be required to attend the club meetings for each club to promote student involvement and governmental support. Also, we would like to support clubs by means of aiding students in search of a club, and promoting club recruitment and interclub communication. Participation in school events and use of funds will also be utilized to ensure club success.

Lastly, the 2007-2008 SCC student government will promote the cohesiveness of SCC, Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) and the Institute for Extended Learning (IEL) into the integral whole of Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS). This will be accomplished through combined student government service projects with SFCC and increasing awareness of the option to take credits from any campus and allow them to be compiled onto one transcript.
